The Radvision
Scopia Desktop is a full HD web conferencing solution which allows PC users
using Internet Explorer and webcam to join multi-site video conferencing
meetings hosted by the Radvision Scopia Elite 5000 series full HD
MCUs. No licensed H.323 video
conferencing client software is required.
It is like
surfing the web. Start Internet Explorer,
type the IP address or URL of the Radvision Scopia Desktop Server, enter
the meeting ID and a PIN (if necessary) at the Desktop Server portal page
and join the meeting.
As the user interface of the web conferencing solution is a
web browser, there are no complex firewall and NAT configuration
issues. Only firewall port 80 and
443 need to be opened.
When in the
multipoint video conferencing meeting, the PC users will be able to see all
other participants (i.e. other PC users and H.323 systems) and enjoy the
same Continuous Presence video layout, H.239 dual video PC presentation
slides (i.e. simultaneous display of video and slides presentation) and
conference moderation. Therefore,
same user experience for all participants.
The Radvision Scopia Desktop is ideal
for organizations with:
- many desktop/notebook PC users with
webcams, in LAN and VPN environment or public internet world.
- frequent multipoint video conferencing meetings
involving many small branches with 1 or 2 key persons and do not wish to
invest too many H.323 hardware video conferencing systems at these
branches.
- many mobile and traveling users with video
conferencing needs, and do not want to be stucked
with complicated firewall and router NAT/port forwarding issues in the
public e.g. hotel rooms, hotspots etc.
The total PC
users that are able to join the multi-site video conferencing meetings will
depend on the capacity of the Radvision Scopia Elite 5000 series MCU.
For example:
1.
up to 10 web conferencing users in 1080p30 full HD
resolution using the Radvision Scopia Elite 5110 MCU
2.
up to 40 web conferencing users in 360p30 SD resolution
using the Radvision Scopia Elite 5110 MCU

Scopia Elite 5000 series MCU offers presence based contact list (i.e. to
see who is online) and capability to allow point-to-point desktop to desktop video
calls among members in the buddy list. This feature does not utilize any
MCU ports at all.
The Scopia Desktop Pro options are available
as follows:

the content of a live meeting to be recording and streamed using IP
network.
The deployment of
the Radvision Scopia Desktop web conferencing solution is fast and
easy. All you need is a Windows2008
server running the Scopia Desktop Server software and a Radvision Scopia Elite
5000 series MCU.
To achieve the
best quality web conferencing effect, the following accessories are
