The following LifeSize video
conferencing systems are recommended:
1. for point-to-point video conferencing:
- LifeSize Express 220 full HD point to
point system.
2. for multipoint video conferencing:
- LifeSize Team 220 full HD video
conferencing system with built-in 4-party MCU.
- LifeSize Room 220 full HD video conferencing
system with built-in 8-party MCU.
The LifeSize video conferencing
systems can be used with any full HD LED TVs, LCD TVs or LCD
projectors. For best video quality
results, 1080p30 full HD LED TVs, LCD TVs and LCD projectors are
recommended. The LCD projectors
shall have brightness of 3000 ANSI lumens and above. Either 1 or 2 displays can be used. When connected, users will see the far
end video and local video on the displays.
If 1 display is used, the far end video and local video will be
displayed as either side-by-side videos or picture-in-picture videos. If 2 displays are used, the far end video
and local video will be shown on the separate displays. As LifeSize is a full HD video
conferencing system, videos displayed are in 16:9 aspect ratio.
In addition to
the real time video conferencing session, users are able to connect their
PC to the LifeSize video conferencing system to start a presentation.
When the
presentation starts, the LifeSize video conference systems will use the H.239
dual video sending and receiving feature to allow local and far end users
to view both video and presentation slides simultaneously. The PC presentation will be in 1080p30
full HD resolution as well.
If 1 display is
used, the following display options are possible:

If 2 displays are
used, the video and PC presentation will be displayed separately on the 2
displays.
Good audio pickup coverage is usually a primary concern of a
video conferencing system. For a
meeting room of about 10 people, the meeting room table is usually
rectangular or round shape. It is
sufficient to use the default microphone system of the video conferencing
system.
2 types of microphone are available
for these LifeSize video conferencing systems:
1. LifeSize phone:
- LifeSize phone has 1 loudspeaker in the
center and 16 microphone elements around it. With its Circular Microphone Array™ and
beam forming technology, it provides exceptional room coverage with true CD
quality and super wide-band audio quality.
It has a mute button and dial pad too. Users may establish a video call from the
dial pad instead of using the remote control unit.

2. LifeSize mic pod:
- LifeSize mic pod is an omni-directional
desktop boundary microphone with frequency response of 100Hz up to
16kHz. It has a mute button with
2-colour LED indicator on it.

LifeSize Express
220 is packaged with 1 LifeSize mic pod.
Additional mic pod can be purchased if necessary. For LifeSize Team
220 and Room220, these systems are packaged with 2 LifeSize mic pods.
By default, all LifeSize video
conferencing systems run well on any TCP-IP network (leased line or
broadband internet access) using H.323 or SIP protocol.
For connection using H.320 protocol or
ISDN network, the optional LifeSize Networker can be used. It supports up to 4 ISDN BRI lines or 1
ISDN PRI line.
The LifeSize video conferencing
systems are fully ITU-T H.323, SIP and H.320 compliance and compatible with
any systems from other manufacturers.
With the optional LifeSize Video Center,
the entire video conference meetings can be streamed live and/or recorded
just by pressing a button on the handheld remote control unit. The recorded videos can be playback using
a PC, Mac computers and iPhone/iPad/iPod whenever required.
